WIPPA, Wind Independent Power Producers Association, is a national-level registered body of more than 40 wind developers and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) of India. Constituted in January 2013, the association has an aggregate capacity of around 30 GW and an asset base of more than INR 2,00,000 crores. It drives policy formulations and policy changes, presents independent views and suggestions, and analyses to government and non-government authorities associated with wind energy development. The chief aim of WIPPA is to collaborate and work collectively toward the progress of the wind sector.
WIPPA’s vision is to establish wind power as one of the key drivers in addressing India’s clean energy requirements thereby providing environmental and economic benefits.
Our mission is to be an enabler that will collaborate with policy makers of the central and state governments to strengthen India’s wind sector.
Our main function is to provide government bodies and regulatory authorities with relevant information and deep analysis of every aspect of the wind industry to facilitate favourable national wind energy policies that will drive growth and innovation in the sector.
